The speeding around and through the neighborhood is out of control. People cutting through to avoid the light at Cypresswood and Jones has people flying though the neighborhood blowing all of the stop signs. I’ve been nearly hit at the two way intersections in the neighborhood several times. It’s dangerous and scary just taking my infant daughter to day care.
The speeding on Jones Road has been dangerous for years. Even though we pay through our Norchester HOA Fees to have a couple of part time patrol officers, there have been multiple times when our bordering landscape timbers and brick flower bed have been ran into and destroyed. As other neighbors have said pulling out of my Driveway always comes after serious prayer because some drivers don’t want to slow down enough to let us out. I ask the City to contribute what they can to improve the safety of our Norchester neighborhood; whether that means adding speed bumps or other ideas. Our lives depend on it.
P.S.
There used to be a 30 MPH sign next to our driveway. (on Jones Road) but someone drove over it and it never was replaced.
I have 5 kids (teenagers) that can't walk down the road to their friends houses or the bus stop because of people speeding down the roads. It's not safe for kids to play outside. Last year someone drove into my mailbox at high speeds and never stopped. Our neighbors across the street are on their 4th mailbox.
