Resident of this area since 1960’s. Now my wife and I are retired and bought a small fishing boat for retirement recreation the RM has decided to push people like us out of Pelican with unaffordable fees for access. Seems to me this whole issue is about trying to limit or stop access by the public (to a Manitoba Provincial lake) for the benefit of the cottage owners, by a municipal government. If this is upheld it is setting a very, very bad precedent for the rest of the province. The RM of Prairie Lakes should be ashamed. Doing the whole thing in SECRET certainly shines a light on the motives. I thought we had laws against stuff like this.

Support of local businesses tied into local communities is so important. When they are also working towards improving and restoring heritage buildings, we should unite as a community to help them help us, especially in the trying times we are all going through.

I have witnessed the chaos with the location of the bike share on wards. They could not have picked a worse spot. I'm on my bike three times a day I have witnessed a few very close calls. Someone is going to get hurt if they don't change the location ASAP!

I'm a wine writer (Wine Enthusiast, Forbes, Toronto Life) and it's been so disappointing to see in real-time how the interprovincial trade barriers are limiting the growth of the Canadian wine industry. If we're so adament to support Canadian producers, especially in the midst of American tariff boycotts, why are we taxing out-of-province like American imports? We should be celebrating homegrown products and producers by letting them sell and share their wines with the whole country.

The Shuck Truck is a unique and well-loved piece of Locke St! They add a needed variety to the food scene and are highly anticipated during the winter! The owner readily embodies the sense of creativity and community that the Hamilton food scene is known for! I’ve seen people come to Hamilton just to try their menu! To hear about the obstructions they’ve faced is heartbreaking when I see that neighbours and tourists regularly stop by for a fill!!

The Shuck Truck is a piece of the Hamilton culture and they’ve always operated with integrity, good will and high quality handling for a food that actually does require precise care. Bureaucratic attempts to shut down a perfectly compliant business that many support and love will not be tolerated without peaceful, professional and incredibly persistent pushback. Ramsen and the Shuck Truck have built a reputation in Hamilton that will last, and he did that during a span of years where it’s been incredibly difficult to do so in the field of restaurants & hospitality. The point is, The Shuck Truck is exactly who you want contributing to the ethos and street culture of Hamilton. People like that, who are putting their heart into our city’s local businesses (and doing so in perfect legal and ethical compliance) are the voices who should be supported and facilitated, not stifled. The voices of each signature on this petition already speak volumes for the impact this local business has had on our city; and the atmosphere of Locke Street. To whomever may read this, I hope it’s conveyed the public support that me and many others have for this business to operate the way it seeks to do so; because Hamilton benefits from it being that way! Which is the most important reason of all. - Antonio

I’ve worked in Hamilton for 22 years and absolutely LOVE The Shuck Truck!!! I’ve ordered boxes of oysters to shuck at home as well as ordered for lunch while I’m working and the guys are always absolutely lovely and the food is always top shelf! It’s sad that they are being bullied by a small group of bitter individuals!

The Shuck Truck is a staple in this city and part of the amazing food culture that draws people to Locke Street. We need local businesses like the Shuck Truck that want to bring a sense of community to this city.

The Shuck Truck is an important part of Locke street and Hamilton in general. They are great humans who treat everyone with respect and kindness, which is not to be said about everyone who has a brick and mortar on Locke street. Losing The Shuck Truck would be a massive loss for the Locke Street community.

Moved to Hamilton 3 years ago, and I live just off Locke St. This has easily become my favorite place to eat in the area. I've introduced multiple friends and family to this place who now love it just as equally as I do. Everyone asks "When are we going back to the Shuck Truck?" My husband and I get food from here once a week. I will be damned if I let some Karens at the Locke Street BIA ruin this place for me or any of its other regular customers.
