As a wheelchair user that drives a Ramp van independently, this is an issue that effects all my decisions. Where to go and what to do are often dictated by is there available parking. My first question is about parking availability and access.

This is a huge issue that needs to be rectified. It has impacted our family, like so many others. Being able to access public places should not be such a challenge. Disability rights are human rights.

I am a wheelchair user permanently and there is never available parking because regular handicap placards are just about given to anybody . We really need to dedicate the wheelchair spots for wheelchair vans or wheelchair users only
Steve supported: Increase the Percentage of ADA Mandatory Accessible Parking Spaces
Not only are there not enough spaces made more accessible parking, there are not enough spaces made for vehicles with wheelchair ramps. Too many people need a spot, are unaware what the lines are for, or just don’t care. We need to think of our community members who need ramps to exit their vehicles.

I’m a manual wheelchair user and often the van accessible handicap spots are taken which means I have to park far away from the hospital, stores, etc.

I’ve gone to the PAC for 4 years now. Without it and the coaches who taught me I wouldn’t be the player I am today. It must be saved.

I love Portland Athletic Club! I’ve played here since I was 5 years old and it’s really important to me and my family, along with so many other people. Please keep it open!! 🎾

Tennis is known to be a ‘sport of a lifetime’, and for 15+ years at many of the Portland Public Parks I ran short tennis camp for youth from all backgrounds. Having Black tennis leaders in our Portland community help expand this fantastic sport and truth be told that the sport teaches many life lessons allowing them to grow up as positive role models and leaders in the community. Please save this club and its leadership!

I am the owners eldest granddaughter. I have worked at PAC on and off since I as 14. I want my grandfathers legacy to be remembered for who he was and what he has done for this community. The conservator should sell to a Family member or community member. We are prepared to fight for tennis, the legacy and the community here.

My name is Siamak Hajarizadeh. I am a tennis professional at the PAC. I have been blessed to be part of this iconic club. In the past year I have seen this club flourish. The management has been a joy to work with because they have a true passion for our life long sport of tennis. The management has hired world class tennis professionals and more importantly fantastic mentors to up and coming junior players. The PAC also services to so many tennis fans from all over the metropolitan area. The closing of Portland Athletic Club would be a great loss to our community.
