Hi, this is my father in the video!! Thank you for the support and fight for the dismissal of tj godbey! I do not want this to happen to anyone else’s father!

John didn’t even actually leave the store but to treat an elderly man like that is insane. He wasn’t even resisting. Trust me I have cops in my family and I do believe that most are truly here to serve and protect. But like everything else, there will always be a few that make everyone else in that profession look bad. I was shocked to watch the video and realize it was someone I had worked with for many years. He was always a super nice guy and now he has dementia. It’s really sad to see him treated this way. It was totally uncalled for since this particular police officer has done this before, I believe he probably doesn’t need to be in this line of work if all he can do is beat up old men. Shameful!

We trust them because we have no other choice. When all other services fail they are the front line - and this behavior has never been accepted - our laws should reflect that. Officers are getting away with murder. I for one did not pay taxes or vote for murderes to be in charge of law enforcement. They are men and woman litterally like any other citizens an if the shoe fits for us there certainly should not be immunity for them.

At the point that the officers are instead terrorizing and traumatizing, they’re just thugs with a badge. Who protects us from them? I don’t want to teach my kids to fear the police, but at what point do these officers stop being bullies with a badge and gun? 👀 I signed this petition because I care about our small community and I care about the people in it that suffer with mental disorders and disabilities and I believe they have the right to live free of assault and harassment by a police officer the same as the rest of us! You’re only one bad day from ending up in that elderly man’s shoes! Sign the petition, Boyle county has a plenty of crooked cops endangering its citizens. Let’s clean house one by one.
