My home, along with everyone else’s on my street, does not have a way where trash cans could move from the back of the house to the front because of grass and fences. Meaning they will have to live on front porches and sidewalks, and probably just in the main street. This will create so many more issues for cars, people using the sidewalks, odors and basic sanitation.
Why did the city not purchase the appropriate sized trucks? I’m sorry this happened, but they need find the money to purchase new trucks.
This neighborhood area of Dallas was master planned around alleyways, our homes were literally built around them. It is the city’s job to maintain them, and to continue trash service in them like they have done for the past 65+ years.

Honestly I see where people walk out of Walmart all the time with tv’s, food, just about anything and nothing is ever done. John didn’t even actually leave the store but to treat an elderly man like that is insane. He wasn’t even resisting. Trust me I have cops in my family and I do believe that most are truly here to serve and protect. But like everything else, there will always be a few that make everyone else in that profession look bad. I was shocked to watch the video and realize it was someone I had worked with for many years. He was always a super nice guy and now he has dementia. It’s really sad to see him treated this way. It was totally uncalled for since this particular police officer has done this before, I believe he probably doesn’t need to be in this line of work if all he can do is beat up old men. Shameful!

We lay our lives on the line trusting these officers not to discriminate against us. We trust them because we have no other choice. When all other services fail they are the front line - and this behavior has never been accepted - our laws should reflect that. Officers are getting away with murder. I for one did not pay taxes or vote for murderes to be in charge of law enforcement. They are men and woman litterally like any other citizens an if the shoe fits for us there certainly should not be immunity for them.
