Vero Beach High School’s scholar ceremony is a night of celebration for all students who have achieved academic excellence. For a school of 2,900 students, this is a major accomplishment for the dedicated students who have put in the work to succeed academically. Specifically though, this event is important to the most high-achieving seniors who have gone above and beyond with their education. While this ceremony includes the celebration of the top 10% of students, it also includes the recognition of perfect 4.0 students, the top 10 scholars, and the awarding of the prestigious John B. Witt award.

This ceremony is scheduled to occur on Thursday, March 14th, 2024. Unfortunately, this date conflicts with the schedule of many students, including at least one-third of the top 10 students who deserve to have their academic career celebrated.

A good portion of the student body believes this date should be moved to Monday, March 11th because it aligns with students’ schedules better than Thursday. The only thing the students want is to attend the event that celebrates all the work they have done in the past 4 years. These bright, young students are the future of the world. They deserve to be honored for their commitment to the school.
