I am a stayed home father of three young children. I am a political conservative. I'm a former Republican. I deeply care about my country. And I believe that Donald Trump must be stopped if we still want to have a United States to pass on to our children.
Where do I start? I lost a friend of 47 years because she told me that my fear of losing desperately needed assistance/Security was stupid and all she cared about was her own SS She accused me of letting my PTSD run my life. When I queried as to what about all the vetted horror stories about arrests of innocent people as well as tariffs that are hurting our country as well as our neighbors she said she did not want to hear about it, etc. that she just wanted peace In her life and she didn't care about anything else or listen to my concerns. I was so hurt and shocked that I hung up and blocked her. And the worst part of all of this is that she calls herself a Christian but her actions or lack thereof, speak much louder than words. To summarize my thoughts I am 80 and struggling to support verbally, efforts to rid our country of its poison of hateful leadership and threats of harm and loss of democracy and the rule of law,the slashing of venerable departments from Education to Medical research and dozens of others by a man who wants to be king taking vengeance on anyone who gets in his way.The tales of horror just keep coming. So, successful impeachment vote, removal from office, a slap upside Republican heads, and restoration if possible of our country 's honor. Well, it's a start. Then a reaching out from our elected officials to our communities to help those victimized by the Executive branch. I have lost my friend but all I can do is pray for protection and guidance and hope for seeing our country healed as well as my needs as an 80 year old to hold on to SS and Medicaid and a decent roof over my head.
Impeaching Donald Trump—again—is not just a political act. It’s a moment of reckoning for our democracy. It’s about drawing a clear, unwavering line around the rule of law, accountability, and the boundaries of power. No person—president or not—should be immune to consequences for actions that harm the nation, exploit its institutions, or incite violence for personal gain.
This moment matters not just for Americans, but for people everywhere who look to the United States as a global symbol of democratic ideals. If we allow disregard for truth, corruption, or authoritarian impulses to go unchecked, we send a message that power is more important than principle.
Impeachment is not about partisanship. It is about protecting the future—preserving a government that is accountable to the people, not beholden to fear, propaganda, or chaos. It is a stand for truth in an age where lies can spread faster than justice. And it is an act of courage that reminds the world: democracy is not a given. It’s a responsibility.
I am retired teacher and helping my niece raise a toddler…living in my sisters home to do that. I want better for this child and my last years on this earth
I volunteer at a nonprofit helping people & families dealing with financial crises. Cutting SNAP benefits & throwing people off Medicaid will have devestaing consequences. Nonprofits & religious organizations are doing what we can but without the support of the Federal government it won’t be enough.
The senate just released a new report detailing rampant corruption in the Supreme Court, where they are blatantly taking bribes from billionaires to sell out the American people and the constitution of the United States. Those involved should be impeached, and a Code of Ethics should be enforced. They must abide by the same ethics code that we enforce with every other judge in this country.
American Imperialism leads to people believing terrible things could never happen in America. However, manifest destiny was hardly any different from building an empire, and the atrocities committed against indigenous people was hardly any different than how Jews were treated in Germany. What has happened to other countries has already happened to us, things could easily become dire.
