A very close friend of mine rented a home in Florida, and has gone through so much health and physical injuries. There a multiple things that are complete Health Code Violations! The home being rented basically blew up and put my friend in the hospital. It nearly killed him! Due to Florida canceling the maintenance appointment there was for faulty electrical! On top of that my friend is beyond sick due to Florida canceling another maintenance appointment leaving and causing Mold to grow in the walls of the house that my friend was completely unaware of. Living in a home inhaling toxic air since he first moved in. Obviously the state did not do a proper inspection before my friend to moved in. Violating the Health Code completely. The fact that the state has refused to help and currently still is refusing to help says a lot.
I have rented for them for 7 years. Never late on payments to them. Have these ridiculous fees. I pay for my renters insurance- what is this “ insurance fee” on my rent? I’ve also had major roof leaks for over 6 years! My roof is on the verge of collapse. I’ve had dozens and dozens of “ quotes” from the countless incompetent vendors they send out. It’s been half ass repaired over 12 times! It still leaks- except it’s much worse. I have to put 4-5 buckets down every time it rains. Can’t use certain light switches as those fixtures have been full of rain water. Now, I’ve been told I’m “ suppose” to get a new roof. Ok sure. That was months ago. Now, I get random updates from IH saying they’re waiting for a vendor to add me to their schedule. It’s exhausting. Eventually, this roof will collapse. It’s rain soaked drywall on most of the ceiling in kitchen and back portion of house. Back bedrooms flooded multiple times. Fence fell down due to age -IH says it’s not theirs! Even though they rented this home to me which included a fenced yard. Totally speechless
We deal with them in North Carolina. Had bats in our attic for years with 2ft deep of bat poop. Took years to have that addressed. Left us with no working AC for 2 years through an entire pregnancy. Mold they call discoloration. They sanded and painted it. Leaking windows. Rotted siding. Splitting walls. The list goes on. We are constantly sick and all we get is harassment to renew for more money and threats they will charge us for 60 days even after we end the lease and vacate the property. Codes knows no luck. I'm now scared they will try to make me pay for the issues they won't fix once I move out. They also charge fees that somehow 1875 is always 2100 at the end of the day. It's disgusting how they do business. They don't care about anyone just money. My favorite is they left us with no kitchen sink once for 2 weeks and tried to make it another month and I had a toddler and a baby like dishes aren't valid. Found a clog in the main line and of course they always try to pin repairs on the resident where you are scared to call for repairs. Also love those estimates causing us to miss weeks of work where we are at risk to be fired for them to deny the estimate over and over. They did that for a month and a half each time on several issues.
