I had my Instagram account since 2019. Over the years, it became a space of collecting memories & staying connected with friends. April 2025, I deactivated the account for privacy and mental health reasons, something I believed was supported by the platform. Despite this, my account was deleted without any warning, email, or chance to appeal. I hadn’t violated any rules. I simply needed a break. Instead of being respected for protecting my mental health, I was deleted. Instagram needs to be more transparent and humane in how it handles user accounts. No one should lose years of their digital life without explanation or recourse. And why does this platform offer no customer service? The help center is functionally useless. I’m hearing the platform recently overhauled their operations to Meta AI. Now what did we learn here after making such a move: Mass deletion of innocent accounts and no way to obtain your data after the fact. This completely unacceptable.

Having been on Facebook since it's inception. I was randomly banned 2 weeks ago and the appeal was automatically reviewed by the same broken AI process that resulted in the ban. Not further details, no access to support, no ability to recover data, no procedural fairness. Years of family and friends memories now gone and no real understanding of why. Then the fact that the ban pushes across all other Meta services then has wide ranging affects as businesses and community groups turn to Messenger and WhatsApp their primary communication tool. These erroneous bans are affecting waves of users and isolating many people's main source of communication and information.

I had a Facebook and Instagram account for over 10 years, recently on 13 March 2025, both accounts were abruptly suspended without chance to appeal. I have lost photos, videos, and an avenue to communicate with my wife while she's in Drill Sergeant Academy. I can no longer see photos and updates the academy pushes out without an account. She is busy throughout the day, so I like to see the updates as they come down. I recently moved to AZ from VA and have lost so many connections to people in my life, and ways to network. I've lost access to marketplace. While I have a healthy relationship with social media, the loss of these accounts with no explanation have me questioning a lot of things. I feel alienated from everyone else with no due regard. Reaching any customer support team is impossible. The links and help pages on meta's site purposefully lead to dead ends, with no contact information to reach a human being who has discretion. Instead, I am permanently banned forever from any meta account with zero explanation. Any chance to create a new account are quickly met with a ban hammer, sometimes immediately. This is happening to real people who haven't done any wrong. Something is extremely wrong. I hope that someone will see my story, and it will have an effect. I love my wife, and I just want to be able to share things with her again.

We have small children at our house, and we want to protect the environment that she will be growing into

I strongly oppose this. It poses a significant risk to community safety, and I will no longer feel safe letting my children walk anywhere near that area. There are serious safety concerns in such a rapidly developing and densely populated neighborhood that's already been experiencing rising crime over the past year. Moreover, the financial cost of this kind of project is simply not justifiable in the current economic climate.

Prominent members of our community are being threatened, extorted, and confidence in local law enforcement has eroded. The Surrey Police Service under Lipinski has failed to provide the safety our residents deserve. Change in leadership is urgently needed, and I fully support the resignation of Chief Lipinski. Surrey deserves strong, accountable leadership that prioritizes the safety and well-being of its citizens. Change is needed.
