I signed because it’s outrageous that people in Kentucky are being denied access to life-saving treatment! Providing MAT for all inmates isn’t optional—it’s essential to stop overdose deaths. It’s time for Kentucky to step up and do what’s right!
I signed because everyone deserves access to life-saving treatment, and providing MAT for incarcerated individuals is essential to reducing overdose deaths and breaking the cycle of addiction.
I signed because everyone deserves a chance at recovery, even those who are incarcerated. Medication-assisted treatment can save lives and help people struggling with addiction get back on their feet. This is something that needs to happen now! Thank you for bringing this to everybody’s attention.
As a chronic/intractable pain patient, with 3 extremely painful diseases the forced tapering of opioid pain medications have left me unable to function properly on a daily basis and barely able to take care of myself. The unrelenting pain 24/7 has caused me to have high blood pressure (now have to take blood pressure med),as well as other medical problems, due to under-treated pain. This is going to soon require me to have an in home health caregiver. This only costs more money for my insurance and myself. How many chronic pain patients do we have to lose to suicide, due to tapering, or cutting off of necessary opioid pain medications, before they realize this is wrong and against our civil rights, to fair medical treatment? What happened to the hypocritical oath “to do no harm?” This has become a form of genocide against chronic /intractable pain patients.
