We’ve reached 142 signatures on our petition—and I’m proud of every single one. This is not an easy issue to understand, and I know some people might wonder: Why should we support inmates?

Because addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failure. Because access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) saves lives, reduces crime, and helps people successfully re-enter society. Because when we treat addiction, we break cycles of incarceration, homelessness, and suffering—not just for inmates, but for their families and communities too.
