Justean a soutenu : Mandate Face-to-Face Consultations for All GP AppointmentsAs someone who has been mis-diagnosed (in a face to face consultation) before this system was put into place, I am now petrified of needing a doctor, as they do as much as possibly can, not to actually see you, I have been given strong pain killers and antibiotics over the phone multiple times since this system came into place, on one occasion instead of prescribing me medication, they should have sent me onto hospital, after suffering in agony I took myself to A+E where I was diagnosed with Sepsis and septic shock. I feel that if a doctor had seen me, they would have been able to test my blood pressure and physically seen how unwell I was.
Kate a soutenu : Mandate Face-to-Face Consultations for All GP AppointmentsI was diagnosed with emphysema back in 2011, then by 2017 I was signed off work, 49yr old, my doctor over that period was lovely and caring, she retired in 2022, since then its really difficult to get past the receptionists, I was put on new medication as I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack 💔 called to talk to the doctor about the medication and the receptionists called me back and said the doctor said to keep taking it, I'm waiting for a hospital appointment for a scan, I am not someone who goes to doctors much, my anxiety is the worst it's ever been, all I ask is that the doctor will see me face to face,

My father also an example, he had been suffering with stomach pains. The doctor didn’t act quick enough. My dad had cancer in pancreas, it spread into his stomach. He was confirmed, he came home from hospital and passed away 10 days later. 💔

Amanda a soutenu : Mandate Face-to-Face Consultations for All GP AppointmentsThis is an essential petition. We NEED face-to-face appointments by GPs, doctors not other 'specialists'. I was misdiagnosed recently and only thanks to private health through husband's work was I and able to get the correct diagnosis and treatment. If I waited to be seen face-to-face by a GP then referred on NHS to specialists, I dread to think how long that would take and how much pain I'd be in.

The government needs to invest in our country, get doctors seeing patients face to face and stop sending money abroad when our own country is on its knees with the NHS, Dentist and Doctors appointments like gold dust.

Michelle a soutenu : Mandate Face-to-Face Consultations for All GP AppointmentsSigned, and I would sign a 1000 times more if I could. I lost my mum in 2023 in similar circumstances. She couldn't get a face to face appointment, was diagnosed with back pain, referred to physiotherapy, given physio sessions over video call. At no point was she ever given a face to face appointment, not a single medical professional laid a single finger on her, and she battled for months to even get a face to face with her GP (she didnt get one) Well it turns out it was cancer, and the time it was finally discovered, it was too late and we lost her less than 2 months later. Who knows if being seen any earlier would have made a difference, but she would have at least been more comfortable, there would have been pain management. And who knows, maybe something could have been done if she had just been listened to at the very beginning. It breaks my heart she went through that and I struggle every day since we lost her. This CANNOT KEEP HAPPENING TO PEOPLE.
