Save Farrier House GP Practice in Worcester

The Issue

As concerned members of our community, we urgently draw your attention to the imminent closure of our GP surgery Farrier House, a vital GP practice in Worcester. Yesterday, Paul Jagger and Cllr Jessie Jagger received a disheartening letter notifying us of the scheduled closure on March 1st. We are deeply troubled by the potential loss of this essential healthcare service and the prospect of having to find a new GP in Worcester. So with the support of the Worcester Liberal Democrats, we would like to challenge this decision.

Kind regards,

Paul Jagger and Cllr Jessie Jagger

Key Concerns:

Overstretched Healthcare:  Farrier House Surgery's closure will strain the already overstretched healthcare system in Worcester. We fear that losing this practice will lead to even greater difficulties in accessing necessary medical care.

Pressure on other local surgeries: Many of us who are patients at the practice will have to join other practices. We are worried that this may put extra pressure on places like St John's House Surgery in Bromyard Road which obtained the lowest rating in the NHS GP Survey 2023. The closure of Farrier house surgery is just going to make it worse.

So we kindly ask that you sign our petition and help us to:

1. Preserve Farrier House Surgery:  We demand all efforts be made to keep Farrier House Surgery operational. Explore alternative solutions and allocate resources to ensure its continued existence.

2. Push for Better Contracts for GPs: Advocate for improved contracts and support systems for GPs to keep their doors open, addressing recruitment challenges and rising costs.

3. Sustainable Healthcare Solutions: Work towards sustainable healthcare solutions that prioritize accessibility and quality, ensuring that no resident is left without a GP practice.

By signing this petition, we unite in our plea to safeguard the health and well-being of our community. Let's stand together to ensure that Worcester's healthcare system remains robust, accessible, and responsive to the needs of its residents.

With the support of Worcester City Councillors
