I have so many memories there and excited to take my son to his first movie there as well. Please don’t break down this location. So many of us from this community will be heartbroken.

We used to have the Westwood Theatres...then Humber Theatres....and Cineplex Queensway is the only place we have for first run entertainment. Surely there are ENOUGH condos in the area, and many sit idle. Enough with more concrete and more congestion. Say NO loudly to demolishing Cineplex Queensway.

My kids aged 27 & 19 have had the pleasure of enjoying our cineplex. We are now going on third generation and taking my granddaughter age 8 to “our” cineplex. It saddens me to lose this movie theatre that has so many great memories. I have no respect for these developers including our Etobicoke councillors who are selling us out. I miss what Etobicoke stood for… family, small family businesses, safety, mom and pop restaurants.

We don’t want or need more condos. We want things to do in the area that this community already lives and cherishes. Having the cineplex also allows us to support Canadian businesses.

It’s a meeting place to have family time, date night and just watch a movie the way it was meant to be watched on big screen. Please don’t take it away from our community. It would be greatly missed.
Jacqueline supported: Save Cineplex Cinemas Queensway ( Etobicoke ) from being demolished!The Cineplex theatre is a gem in this neighbourhood. A source of entertainment for my family at an affordable cost. In fact, I’m a Cineplex member - that’s how frequently I go.
It’s walking distance and safe to go at night too.
Demolishing it would mean losing a key entertainment venue that family friendly in South Etobicoke. There are no other hang out or socializing spots as a family, especially in the colder months.
The land owners says they are willing to keep leasing to Cineplex as long as they want to stay but that makes no sense if the condo corporation zoning permission goes through. They will not amend their proposal to keep the cinema and build the condos next to it.

As someone who has lived in Etobicoke for most of my life, I have very special memories from every point of my life here. My first movie at 3 years old, my first scary movie as a teenager, and many amazing date nights with my now husband have been here at Queensway cineplex. There has been so much development in Etobicoke the last ten years. I’ve had to watch some of my favourite places be ripped down to be replaced with condos. Soon there will be no option but to travel downtown in order to see a movie if this is not stopped. Please be considerate to the people who live in this community and how this will affect our lives.

I’ve been to this theatre with my family hundreds of times and over the course of my childhood. It’s important for bringing community and friends together, especially for being in the heart of Etobicoke. We need to strive for an open and social environment for our city, starting with this theatre.
