When I started my menopause, I felt alone, I wanted to end my marriage, and I lost my zest for life. I am a social butterfly and now looking back I feel the menopause stripped me of that. It became harder to leave my home, even the small things like talking to people became a real effort, it was only when I started volunteering at Russells Equestrian Centre, that I began to feel a sense of peace and well-being again. This was down to the horses and their gentleness and the support from everyone at the yard, having this time away from normal day to day life and doing something else with the people who are passionate about horses as I am really helped me to find me again. It was the best therapy and still is the best therapy. My time was rough, without Russells and The Epona Trust and all the horses and people at the yard I honestly don’t know where I would be now. I honestly don’t think I would be here today! Horses are not just for riding; they are therapy! Being around them, they can give so much back. Please leave a comment and help us by signing and sharing. Thank you

I spent two glorious summers in the 1980’s with Carol on riding holidays out in the New Forest. We spent two weeks in a huge marquee in a field along with the horses. I learnt to ride at her stables and I have fond memories of Carol and her two young daughters. I hope a compromise can be reached to allow this wonderful business to continue.

It absolutely breaks my heart to see such loyal and honest animals be SO misunderstood in the Egyptian country... They need to be taken care of with the same dignity and respect you would your child. Period. No excuses. If Egypt cannot afford horses, Please do not buy them or use them. There need to be laws in place , consequences for these actions of the whipping and torture I have seen these horse's in the tourism community be treated like.

In an age where tireless traffic dominates our roadways, it's imperative that we pave new paths—not just for the cars that whiz by, but for the two-wheeled riders and hoofed friends that add to the tapestry of our countryside. We must ensure that the routes we design embrace ALL members of our community. I am passionately committed to enhancing access. The exciting prospect of a new multi-user path stands before us, a ribbon of possibility that will weave together the villages of Layer de la Haye, Birch, Stanway and Peldon. This path will not only serve as a crucial link between our communities but also as a bridge that fosters connection, encouraging residents to thrive together in a safer, more welcoming environment. As we take this step towards a more integrated and inclusive approach to transportation, we are not just building a path; we are cultivating community ties and riding towards a brighter, safer and more sustainable future. Let us champion these changes together, for the benefit of all who roam the paths of our beautiful countryside.
