What would Dartmoor be without its ponies. They are a National Treasure, we should honour them. Our family spent many a happy weekend or spare evening on Dartmoor visiting these ponies, they need to be protected for future generations. The are a visitor attraction too. Kill off the ponies, stopping over night camping, do you really think people are going to driving miles to get to Dartmoor in their droves. Those ponies and a chance to wake up in a wilderness setting is what attracts people. They can hike over half of England but they don’t get that.
Having helped with the Dartmoor hill ponies in the past and currently owning two, I couldn't imagine Dartmoor with no ponies which is what will happen with the proposed numbers being so small. Each herd is unique on dartmoor, to reduce the overall numbers so low will effect the herds disastrously and the diversity of the moor itself. Natural England are not known for their horse expertise and should not be proposing such extreme measures. Plenty of the local charities and people of Dartmoor would agree that this is the wrong move.
When I saw this video I burst in to tears 20years confirmed in that tiny tank it’s absolutely disgusting and I cannot begin to think the sheer boredom and sadness this animal feels something must be done immediately
We have 2 Beagles who were used in laboratory research for the first 4 years of their lives. These girls have been with us since August 2025 and are so full of joy and life now. These living beings deserve so much better than being bred for abusive and outdated so called scientific research and procedures. Being kept in horrific conditions before they even arrive at a laboratory is heartbreaking and infuriating. This entire industry needs to be outlawed. Ridglan should be fined and shut down permanently NOW.
