Learn4Life is a valuable tool for seniors. I have seen seniors and adults learn together in these classes at affordable prices. This program creates opportunities for connecting with people of all generations while picking up a new skill.
Learn4Life is an important program for adults and particularly seniors. These classes help keep seniors active and socially connected with their communities. It is important to maintain affordable and accessible community programming for seniors.
Since moving to Toronto in 2019, the TDSB Learn4Life program has been an incredible resource for me to meet people, learn new skills, and explore interests in a safe and accessible way. I have taken courses through TDSB as varied as bicycle maintenance, beginner mandarin, ink and pen drawing, and sewing. I have met many great people through the program, and have always been struck by the wide diversity of people in both age and background that take part in Learn4Life courses. The courses are economically accessible and geographically accessible. The price and the fact that there are locations across the GTA make it easy for people to access these courses. The incredible variety of courses is also staggering and cannot be found anywhere else. Learn4Life teachers and instructors are leaders in our communities that value passing on their knowledge. They are an incredible resource for this city that the Learn4Life program allows anyone to access. When people move to this city, the TDSB Learn4Life courses are one of the first things I recommend for those looking to meet people and try something new. The loss of this program would be an incredible blow to Toronto. Supporting the Learn4Life program going forward is a commitment to the value of community and education. I truly hope that this program continues for years to come. For me, it will always be an important part of what makes Toronto such an amazing place to live.
I am a widowed pensioner, and I’ve recently been hit with a sharp increase in my property taxes. Despite this, the condition behind my house—where my property backs onto Rosebank—has become unacceptable. There is a significant amount of weeds and debris accumulating, creating a jungle-like environment.
I contacted the city to request that the area be cleaned and maintained, but I was told that work couldn't be done due to the incline. However, the incline is not severe and should not prevent maintenance. It’s frustrating to pay high taxes while living next to an unmanaged and overgrown space.
It was sad enough that we lost the ability to drive across this bridge but now to take it away completely is outrageous. Many people walk this area and it’s a viable way to visit neighbors on the other side of the bridge without driving. Come on city of Flin Flon we can do better than this. You are cutting in the wrong areas. Maybe pit stop signs on Main Street instead of lights. The stop signs are much faster and more functional. You’ve asked the citizens to clean let’s start cleaning in house and cut some of your administration and make smarter decisions in that area so we aren’t paying out severance packages. People see what is happening
I have taken several TDSB Learn 4 Life courses and the instructors have been amazing. I have learned so much and benefitted from meeting new people. These courses enrich so many communities and the programs should continue to be supported.
I personally don’t use the bridge for walking but I know so many people who do use it to get to and from work and to see people taking away the walk way would make people potentially lose their ljobd because they are unable to accommodate for cabs and then feeling isolated I’m new to Miramichi if they only way I was able to get around was taken away I would feel isolated and ignored.
The New Centennial Bridge plan will be serving our community for at least the next 50 years. It is not acceptable for us to take away Accessability for this and future Generations! Sidewalks are not optional they are a necessity!
