Having known Apollo since he was a 4 month old puppy, I am appalled this petition is even happening. Apollo is best friends with my dog (a 43lb 4yr old mix breed). They grew up together and I’ve never ONCE had any hesitations about Apollo.

Not only did they get along, but my dog is an anxious dog, and being around Apollo actually calmed him down because he watched Apollo let strangers come and pet him, signaling it was ok. It’s not fair to evict him from his home when he clearly has so many supporters and positive experiences with other dogs and humans.

Also I pass hound dogs on Dudley mountain road in small outdoor pens in single digit weather AND in 90+ degree weather. Cruel dangerous conditions for these dogs. Nothing is done about it.

Owning an animal is a choice and any abuse, neglect or suffering is also a deliberate choice. With many options available for pet owners who may be struggling including but not limited to:
Low cost veterinary services, assistance in obtaining necessary food, and options to surrender the animal to local shelters, any mistreatment is willful and intentional. Our community will not tolerate willful neglect and abuse of animals in our area. The maximum penalties are indicated for those who seek financial gain at the expense and intentional suffering of other living beings. Owning an animal is a privilege that should be beneficial to both pet and human. It is not a right and does not come without responsibility and consequences. Our community is placing trust in our legal system to uphold the laws and regulations and standards that are set to protect the voiceless.

The fundamental fact is that the abuse of an animal is a serious offense. The mindset of humanity needs to change. By documenting the abuse and the abuser, we may start to realize that the abuse of animals is not a victimless crime. It is a heinous crime, and anyone who engages in it must be held accountable.

People who abuse animals are cruel and downright disgusting human beings who should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law as I am the one who must re-hab the damage done to these innocent victims. Precious animals!! They don’t deserve abuse. There are countless nights I cry holding and caring for the ones I can take in. That’s why I care.
