Whatever a person's race, nationality, colour, creed, level of intelligence, marital status, age, gender, sexual orientation, background or religious beliefs, I strongly believe that, when it comes to fulfilling the basic human need for proper food, clean water, adequate clothing and shelter, to be treated with dignity and respect and, tying all these basic necessities together, being an integral part of a caring and sharing community where one is able to love others and to be loved in return, we are all equal. Only then can the troubled individual be free to contribute to the common good in society - and not because he or she feels forced to!
For Audrey, for the women we’ve lost, for the women we will lose until real change is implemented.
19 year old girls should not have to be martyrs. I’m sorry the system failed you, Audrey.
The justice system needs to change the balance and worry less about the freedom of alleged offenders and more about the lives of the alleged victims.
Granting bail to alleged DV offenders has been proven time and time again to mostly lead to reoffending, threats and manipulation of victims.
RIP Audrey, this should never have been allowed to happen.
As a female this issue is extremely torturing that this could happen to anyone of us and has happened to thousands. All we want is to be safe to be able to walk home, go to the gym, and be by ourselves.
No human being should ever feel threatened, fearful, not in control of their path ever. This is 2025 universal laws should already be in place. Those is power should hang their heads in shame that we are still signing petitions to get changes made
