I don't want one of my friends or just anyone from my school to suffer and end up killing themselves

As a 17 year old, I’m not at the age where I understand how to handle these things on social media but my 14 year old sister does not. Her and her classmates don’t understand the impact that this has on her and on thousands of others. This has to stop. Don’t let it get this far.

I am now 18 and still trying to pick up the pieces and heal my mental state. I know how it can damage your perception of life and the severe chemical changes that happened to my brain. Growing up as a kid now is far different to even when I was growing up only 15 years ago. I don’t want my kids to be bullied daily, or even have the ability to bully others. Let’s not make this easier for this to happen. Change needs to happen.

Every platform is a competition on likes, views, comments and power over others Success, it opens up a free window for outsiders to have their own personal views and says. Kids shouldn't have to indulge this pressure.

Facebook would not take action against my daughters bullies and delete their accounts. She had classmates tell her to kill herself or they would kill her. Our local police said that she should delete her Facebook account because Facebook would not act and delete the accounts of the perpetrators. She was punished for the despicable behaviour of others, unable to have a Facebook account to keep in touch with family members who lived interstate. I am deplored at the lack of responsibility and care Facebook and other social media platforms take for the harm they cause and allow their users to cause. My daughter did not commit suicide thank goodness but if she had of it would have devastated myself and her family. This needs to stop ✋️ immediately before an another beautiful human ends their life. Please sign this petition and show Facebook and the other social media platforms they need to take greater control and responsibility to young people. Also the government bodies around the world.
