Councillor Zeli Munjiza speaks up for Residents of Edmondson Park

Hello Fellow Residents, Ratepayers and Community Members
Councillor Zeli Munjiza was only elected in April 2026 at the By-election and has officially only attended two Liverpool City Council meetings as a Councillor but I must say that she has been quite vocal in advocating for Residents and Ratepayers of Liverpool.
At the June 2026 Liverpool City Council meeting Zeli Munjiza raised the issue of Sinozich Park, you can watch the clip of the recording via the Link below.........

From Councillor Munjiza Facebook Page 20th June 2026
"At Wednesday’s Council meeting, I asked when the Edmondson Park community can expect to see progress on Sinozich Park and what can be done to speed up its delivery.
After years of promises, residents have waited long enough for this much-needed open space.
I’ll continue advocating for our community and pushing for this project to be delivered as quickly as possible."

Watch Councillor Munjiza speak about the issue on the 2nd July 2026 with an update on her Facebook page ....
"When I ran for council, I made a commitment to put Sinozich Reserve back on the agenda.
That’s why I put forward an urgency motion at the last council meeting to get answers for residents about when this long-overdue park will finally be delivered.
The Mayor denied my urgency motion, but I’ll keep fighting for the parks our community deserves. I’ll be bringing this motion back to the council agenda next month.
Stay tuned for updates."

It's great to see Councillor Zeli Munjiza addressing the issue of Parks in Edmondson Park and I would encourage you to contact her directly via email CllrMunjiza@liverpool.nsw.gov.au
I have passed on links for the petition to her and provided other information regarding the situation of Parks in Edmondson Park that I have over gathered over the years.
UPDATE FROM LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL 8TH JULY 2026
Mr Andjelkovic was provided an update on the status of Sinozich Reserve as follows:
Council confirms that land acquisition for Sinozich Reserve has been successfully completed, with the last remaining lot acquired by Council in December 2025. Council now has ownership and control over all the combined sites required for Sinozich Reserve, enabling technical investigations and detailed planning to progress.
Preliminary planning and schematic design activities are in progress. Site investigations and a range of technical studies to inform the future development of the reserve are also being undertaken, including site survey, Biodiversity Environmental Constraints Report, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment and commencement of the Designing with Country process.
In parallel, an updated Master Plan for Sinozich Reserve is currently being developed by Council in-house and is expected to be tabled for Council consideration at a future Ordinary Meeting of Council in 2027, subject to the timing and outcome of the specialist Consultancy investigations referenced above.
Detailed design and delivery of projects identified in the Master Plan will occur once the Master Plan has been finalised and adopted by Council, and funding has been confirmed.
Should you require any further information on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Let's keep the pressure on Liverpool City Council to provide the Parks in Edmondson Park.
Kind Regards
