Please allow my Australian born 10-year-old daughter to live with her family
The issue
Hello, my name is MyoungJi Lee
I am a mother of three beautiful daughters born and raised in Australia.
I am writing this petition to humbly ask for your assistance in requesting a health waiver for our Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa.
My husband is an expert in the tile industry and is highly regarded for his experience and skills. He holds a key position as the lead technician in his company. Despite his ongoing contributions and a sponsorship from his employer, our path to permanent residency in Australia has been halted due to an issue arising from my second child’s medical examination results.
Both my husband and I sought new beginnings in Australia—my husband in 2008, myself in 2010. During our initial years here, we were blessed with two beautiful children. It was at this time that my husband's employer offered us sponsorship and supported our work visas. We continued to build our lives here and welcomed our third daughter in Australia. We have lived in this beautiful country for more than a decade and dreamt of obtaining permanent residency—an important milestone in our family's life in Australia.
We imagined that applying for the PR would be straightforward considering the numerous contributions my husband had made professionally. However, due to our second child's developmental disability, our dream slowly started to feel like an unreachable vision.
Our three children consider Australia their home. For them, any other place is foreign. Uprooting them and forcing them to adapt to a completely new environment could cause undue distress and pain, something we wish to spare them from. Therefore, we earnestly believe that they have the right to live and grow in the country they consider home.
While waiting for the ENS visa approval, our eldest daughter got her Australian citizenship. Yet, if the rest of the family cannot secure PR, we may have to move back to Korea. This would create a complex situation and emotional distress for our eldest daughter and her younger sisters. We do not want to leave her behind in her formative years, nor do we want to uproot her from the life she identifies with.
Securing a health waiver for our family is thus crucial. It is a beacon of hope that can help us surpass this obstacle and ensure a future where we can continue contributing positively to Australian society. I am rest assured that with your generous support and understanding, our application for PR can move forward.
Your interest, encouragement and support can play a crucial role in this battle. You can give my family the strength to navigate this tumultuous time and help create a future that we so earnestly wish for in Australia. The support you extend could be a transformative experience for us all.
We have sought legal counsel for this matter and currently are fully supported and represented by the solicitor. Yet, your support and raising our concern within the Australian immigration system would undoubtedly amplify our voice and help us to be heard.
As we wish you a joyous season, we remain hopeful that through your blessings, my family can continue to be a part of Australia and contribute even more positively in the future. Thank you for your time and consideration.
