Cannabis is less addictive than alcohol or tobacco. It can help folks both medically and recreationally- yes, I said help. I've been managing severe anxiety since I was 11 years old, and my first introduction to cannabis in my late 20s was revelatory. I can finally fall asleep consistently without staring at the ceiling for hours each night. My energy levels are so much higher and my GERD (acid reflux) is much less active at night than it was for years because the cannabis settles my stomach when I take it before bedtime and reduces the likelihood that I'll wake up in the early hours throwing up stomach acid like I used to. My mood is lifted now that I'm not exhausted all the time and I'm doing better work professionally than ever before. I'd rather take an edible than drink a wine cooler, but I have to ration out my cannabis because the taxes make it astronomically more expensive than any other vice available to us these days. Lower cannabis taxes to lower the barrier to better health for those of us with chronic health issues like PTSD, severe anxiety, and pain disorders among many other diagnoses.
Cannabis has impacted my life in such a positive way, that i dont think i would be anywhere near where i am now if i didn't try it. It's help me feel like me and be able to present as me without worry. I want to be able to enjoy it without having to worry about all the taxes being piled onto it. I enjoy being able to buy safe cannabis products, but the taxes feel almost like a punishment to enjoy something society has frowned upon for no reason.
Tennessee's hemp industry has immense potential, but it's being stifled by outdated, overly strict regulations that make it nearly impossible for farmers to thrive. The current THC limit of 0.3% is too restrictive and doesn't take into account the natural variability of hemp plants. As a result, farmers are being forced to destroy their crops over minor THC fluctuations that don't affect the quality or safety of the product.
I grow my own meds to treat my back pain so I'm not taking all the painkillers the doctor wants to prescribe, but currently I am trapped in Colorado until Pennsylvania approves the right to grow at home. I just want to go home so my mom and dad can enjoy their grandkids. unfortunately getting caught trying to help myself would turn me into a felon, I'd probably get my kids taken and I would definitely go to jail under the current laws in pa. help me get home.
I have Psoriatic Arthritis and cannabis is the only medicine that brings me any relief from the stiffness and pain without taking opioid pain killers, which I hate.
