Based on the CAP code of ethics psychologists in Canada have a responsibility to advocate for equity and inclusion. The current 3 limit attempt on the EPPP unfairly excludes marginalized populations that our society direly needs more representation of in the mental health system.

Social work is a demanding and emotionally intense profession. Trying to maintain full-time hours, while not being paid, and having a job or family leaves no time for self-care. If an issue arises in one's life, this becomes even less likely. When dealing with a family issue and worrying about practicum hours, it becomes impossible to ensure you are taking care of yourself.

The school has tripled our fees, making it a ridiculous amount for one mere student to attend on their own. Families are already struggling with income, and adding this has made matters much worse. Numerous students are leaving due to the prices, especially for the fact that the school isn’t putting any of the money towards their students. The school system is already bad— so adding this on as well has pushed many peoples breaking points. Friends are forced to leave because their parents can’t afford paying for them, while the students stuck here are forced to go along with the terrible school system and have no voice in anything, let alone the fees. Around 90% of my friends won’t be here next year, and that’s a real fact. The place many kids practically grew up in is now being left behind because of financial difficulties. The school claims to care yet they ignore us and continue their heinous actions. THE STUDENTS MATTER. We are stressed everyday from studies, and now with most of our parents worrying about money, it affects us, too. How do you expect your students to feel safe in school where they aren’t even treated as people, but rather mindless machines with endless money? It’s atrocious. It needs to be stopped and it needs to be stopped NOW.
