(Verse 1)
Yo, Mrs. Pridgen, what’s the deal with the load?
Two assignments a week, it’s a heavy road.
Thought we were elevatin’, but I’m feelin’ low,
Got my mind racin’, like I’m stuck in slow-mo.
(Chorus)
Elevate you? More like elevate stress,
Got me grindin’ hard, but I’m feelin’ the mess.
Core class vibes, but it’s feelin’ like a test,
Need a break, can’t keep up with this endless quest.
(Verse 2)
Every week’s a battle, man, I’m losin’ my mind,
Can’t keep up with the pace, I’m fallin’ behind.
Thought I’d find some wisdom, but I’m lost in the grind,
While you stackin’ up the work, I’m just tryin’ to unwind.
(Chorus)
Elevate you? More like elevate stress,
Got me grindin’ hard, but I’m feelin’ the mess.
Core class vibes, but it’s feelin’ like a test,
Need a break, can’t keep up with this endless quest.
(Outro)
So here’s my plea, just lighten the load,
We’re all tryin’ to learn, help us find our road.
Elevate the minds, but don’t crush our soul,
Balance is the key, let’s make this whole.
I need to get something off my chest about the Elevate You course, specifically the way Mrs. Pridgen runs it. Honestly, this class feels like a huge waste of time. It’s supposed to be a once-a-week thing, but somehow it’s turned into a major source of stress. Two homework assignments every week? Really? This is not a core class, yet it demands just as much, if not more, effort than my daily subjects.
It’s frustrating! We already have a packed schedule with core classes that require our attention every single day. Adding Elevate You to the mix just feels overwhelming. I mean, we’re supposed to be able to breathe and manage our time, but instead, we’re juggling multiple assignments that pile up on top of everything else. It’s like we’re being asked to treat this once-a-week class like it’s some kind of major subject, and that’s just not fair.
And let’s be real here—this isn’t just a minor inconvenience. The pressure from Elevate You is affecting our overall well-being. We’re students trying to balance homework, extracurricular activities, and personal lives, and then we have this course adding to our stress levels. It’s hard to see the value in a class that feels more like a burden than a benefit.
I really think it’s time to reevaluate how Elevate You is structured. It should be a supportive and enriching experience, not another source of anxiety. We need to find a way to make this class work for us, not against us. It’s time for a change!
The class is a waste of taxpayer dollars. They “teach” us stiff that was already common knowledge, such as to get a job you have to fill out a job application. They show meaningless examples for jobs such as working at target, instead f actually encouraging kids to pick jobs that might genuinely hep them in the future. The teacher treats this class as a core class, being strict despite the class curriculum being lacking in all categories, including problem solving, and time management. They teach us the same skills we learned from basic elementary. “Studying is important” is a skill most of us already know. The class overloads meaningless work instead of ACTUALLY elevating students. I propose instead of elevate you, we should use this time as either a study hall or a time period to improve your skills and hobbies.
