American Sign Language (ASL) is a vital form of communication for the Deaf and hard of hearing community, allowing individuals to express themselves visually through hand gestures, facial expressions, and body movements. Recent trends show an increased interest in promoting ASL as a recognized language and expanding its accessibility in education and public services.
Key issues and themes in ASL petitions include calls for ASL interpretation in important public events, advocating for ASL courses in schools, and pushing for ASL recognition as an official language. Notable petitions have gained traction by highlighting the need for equal access to information for Deaf individuals and promoting inclusivity in various settings.
Join the movement to support ASL initiatives, amplify the voices of the Deaf community, and foster a more inclusive society. Your involvement can help break down communication barriers and create a more accessible world for all.

I applaud Robert Manganelli for his perseverance through his reply and personal traumatic event that has led him to advocate for others who are experiencing challenging times in their life and feel such a sense of despair that they feel their life is not worth living. Yet, Bob is putting his energy into changing their perception, and offering them HOPE FOR TOMORROW!
Duolingo has been around for a decent amount of years now. Out of all the languages they have added so far, it’s a shocker they still don’t have ASL yet! This is not only helpful to people curious about the language but also to the people who rely on it as their main method for communication! There are limited affordable resources for ASL and Duolingo would be a great opportunity for the Deaf community to have more resources for learning.
Duolingo is -without a doubt- one of the most used AND most successful language apps out there. With Duolingo, I have become almost fluent in Spanish and would love to use it to be able to learn ASL. Unfortunately, most schools dont offer ASL classes so this would be amazing!
