Prohibit Israel from using U​.​S. taxpayer dollars for military abuse of Palestinian youth

The Issue

Support H.R. 2590, a bill to “prohibit Israel from using U.S. taxpayer dollars on the military detention, abuse, or ill-treatment of Palestinian children in Israeli military detention.”

Data Visualization by the Palestine Advocacy Project shows that Palestinian children who are detained suffer under abusive tactics including physical harm, transport on the metal floor of a vehicle, and being hooded. Many are also denied the right to know why they’ve been arrested and their parents are not consulted or informed in the process.

Since 2020, the Israeli government has not provided statistics on child detention, meaning that legal defense and outreach organizations can no longer properly defend and protect against this abuse.

To help solve this issue, Betty McCollum’s bill must be supported with urgency in an effort to stop the abuse of Palestinian detainees and cease violence funded by U.S. tax dollars.
