Even with the current COVID wave, The universities in Kerala is going ahead with the Final semester Offline exams. Universities outside the state is calling off exams and promoting students based on previous semesters and internal marks , meanwhile universities in Kerala (who are unwilling to conduct online exams) are exerting immense pressure on Students.

With a large majority of the Kerala population yet to be vaccinated, this move by universities is putting the lives of Students, Teachers and Parents at risk. It is also clear from the experience of previous semester exams that the measures put in place regarding social distancing, travel of students, hostel facilities etc are very far from optimal. The exams which lakhs of students attend could further spread the COVID-delta variant and fast track us right in to the third wave.

Officials deciding to conduct offline exams through online meetings speaks miles to how serious the issue is .Students are unable to apply for jobs and higher studies across India and abroad due to this major inconvenience .

The Students need justice. The State Government and Governor needs to intervene, the Online exams for preceding semesters also need to be considered. Universities should understand the situation and cancel the final semester exams.
