**Protect Our Community and Children in Ozone Park, NY**

As a concerned resident of Ozone Park, Queens, I'm reaching out for your support to oppose the transformation of the former Villa Marcello catering hall, located at 96-25 Rockaway Blvd, into two new mental health facilities. This proposal by Transitional Services for New York, a nonprofit organization, plans to demolish the vacant property to build a 10-bed crisis respite residence and a 14-bed short-term transitional residence, aimed at assisting adults with mental health issues.

While mental health services are crucial, the location chosen is in close proximity to several schools and homes, raising serious concerns about the safety and well-being of our children and neighborhoods. Ozone Park already houses four homeless shelters. Our community is being saturated with facilities of this kind, and adding more can adversely affect our local environment, economy, and particularly our children's safety.

We must ensure that our community's development is beneficial, balanced, and caters to the needs and safety of all its residents. The influx of facilities in such a compact area poses the risk of criminal activities, congestion, and might devalue our properties. We stand united for a solution that considers a more suitable location for these vital services without compromising the safety and character of our neighborhood.

Join me in urging our local leaders and decision-makers to rethink this proposal. Let us emphasize the need for comprehensive community planning that supports mental health solutions while also prioritizing the security and well-being of our children and community members.

Sign this petition to voice your concern and demand a more thoughtful and safe approach to community development in Ozone Park. Let's work together to protect our neighborhood and ensure a safe and prosperous environment for all.
