The Issue

President Trump’s plan to pardon reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley is deeply troubling.

These individuals were convicted in a court of law for defrauding banks out of more than $36 million and evading hundreds of thousands in taxes. Their crimes were not small mistakes — they were deliberate, sustained, and harmful to public trust.

This pardon is not an act of justice. It’s a favor to celebrities with power and influence. Everyday Americans serve their full sentences for far less.

Letting the Chrisleys walk away sends a dangerous message: if you’re famous and connected, you don’t have to play by the same rules.

We cannot allow the justice system to be used for political favors or television ratings. These pardons insult the victims of fraud and tax evasion, and they disrespect the work of prosecutors, jurors, and judges who upheld the law.

We urge President Trump to reverse course and not pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley. They were found guilty by a jury of their peers, they should serve their full sentences just like anyone else.
