RECOGNITION OF SULTANATE OF AMEXEM

RECOGNITION OF SULTANATE OF AMEXEM
The Issue
We urge all State Legislators of the United States Government to formally recognize the enrolled membership of the Sultanate of Amexem, a sovereign theocratic nation formed by House of Simmons Bey, a Dynasty of Moorish Americans of the Asiatic race whose members are all direct descendants of and the successors in interest to their ancient Moabite ancestors known as mound-builders who remained in the Americas, in their endeavors and received formal recognition by the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt to inhabit these lands and were forced to hide their culture and assimilate in order to survive European settlement and conquest of the Americas. It is inconceivable that the United States government has yet to bestow the proper recognition and rights that the Sultanate of Amexem members and the Moorish American people at large are far overdue as descendants of the first to people of this land now known as the United States of America and the States of the Union. They alone possess unique history and birthrights of the Moorish Americans who remained behind, honoring their ancestors and their descendants, and retaining the vast amount of culture and tradition that has been passed down from Moorish American elders here in the Americas, in our state, as well as established and verified by the extensive direct descendants of Moorish and Asiatic people of the world.
It is well past due for the United States government to correct historical injustices by recognizing their own Moorish ancestry. For many years the Moorish Americans have worked diligently as stewards and caretakers of the land, and the people prior to the arrival of European settlers. Their high appreciation and protection of the natural environment and the people are valuable assets to the welfare of this Nation. For over 98 years they have been engaged in partnerships with US organizations who work together to assist them in reaching these goals. Partners include environmental organizations, faith-based organizations, youth groups, elders’ societies, historical societies, businesses, government officials, and others. The Sultanate of Amexem plans to generously share Moorish language classes, education programs about Moorish history and culture - not just with their members, but with all who are interested.
The Moorish American people have struggled to garner recognition as the remaining original people of the Americas. They have sent delegations and representatives to stand before various committees seeking recognition, beginning in the 1920s with Noble Drew Ali, Founder of the Moorish Science Temple of America, and continuing as recently as January 12th 2024, when they held meetings with State Officials in honor of Moorish American History Month. Several Senators, House Representatives, and other officials have pledged their support of the Moorish American community, but this has yet to lead to action.
As the most minor act of reparations for the harm that was historically done to the Moorish American people who remained and suffered persecution, discrimination, and forced assimilation within their ancestral homeland for hundreds of years, since European arrival to the Americas, the United States Government and the Government of the States of the Union should recognize the existence and legitimacy of its original people still residing in these territories. Don’t we, as Americans collectively, owe our Moorish American neighbors at least that much? These original keepers of the lands and waters were forced to hide and be misidentified by external forces for much too long and deserve to be recognized and given rights of self determination as outlined in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights for Indigenous Peoples adopted in 2007. The work the Sultanate of Amexem is doing to not only preserve the true history of the Moorish Americans but to also invite us all into a more harmonious and peaceful relationship with these lands is crucial at this point in our collective human history.
All State Legislators of the United States Government MUST affirm the rights and acknowledge the legacy of the Moorish American people and engage in collaborative agreements to support the Sultanate of Amexem growth and development.
