Remove the Executive Order for Mask Mandates in our Kentucky Public and Private Schools!

The Issue

This mask mandate is unacceptable. In no way shape or form should our governor be in charge of our children's health decisions. When did it become okay for the government to decided what is best for OUR kids?!?! Have they not been through enough already?

Covid 19 has put such a mental strain on our entire nation, we all need normalcy. How is this possible if our children are being subjected to deal with these stipulations while they are being educated? Not only are these masks a nuisance to keep on our children, but you are asking our educators to be focused on something other than teaching. Explain to us how this is productive or an example of the best education possible.

I should also mention masks pose their own health concerns with the high amount of cross contamination of germs from the constant mask adjustments. We all know children, especially very young children, touch everything and are unable to understand the complexity of germs and how they are spread. They pick their noses and eat it for heavens sake. Why not focus on hand washing and coughing into our elbows? Things kids can do easily that aren't a disruption to the classroom.

When is enough, enough? When will this end? We all know respiratory viruses mutate and circulate. That's a fact of life. We all will eventually catch this virus. But our children aren't high carriers nor are they the target of the highest mortality rates.

The government has no place in choosing our health concerns. We the Parents get to decide what is best for our children. Make it an option to wear a mask, not a mandation. Mandation screams control and Governor Beshear is out of control with his constant restraints and restrictions on the citizens of Kentucky. This needs to change now. It's time we take his power away and give it back to the people, the parents, and their children.
