John Morgan McGarvey is an accomplished American attorney and politician, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 3rd congressional district since 2023. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, McGarvey has an extensive background in public service. From 2012 to 2023, he represented the 19th district in the Kentucky Senate, where he was elected as the minority leader in 2018, distinguishing himself as one of the youngest state legislative leaders. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky. His professional career includes roles as a Senior Associate at Morgan & Pottinger, P.S.C., a Litigation Associate at Frost Brown Todd, and a Special Assistant Attorney in the Office of the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Notably, he is the only Democrat in Kentucky's congressional delegation.
