Protect Free Speech. Stop Canceling Visas Over Social Media Posts.
The Issue
The U.S. government just took away the visas of six people from countries like Germany, Brazil, and South Africa.
Why? Because they posted things online that were seen as disrespectful after Charlie Kirk’s tragic death.
No matter what you think about their comments, this sets a dangerous precedent. People shouldn't lose their right to be in the U.S. just because they said something unpopular. Especially if it was online and not a threat to anyone.
Free speech is a core American value. That should apply to everyone, not just citizens.
The State Department is now saying it may review millions of visa holders’ social media posts for anything “offensive.” This kind of speech policing opens the door to abuse, targeting people based on their opinions, not their actions. It’s already affecting students, artists, and even diplomats.
This is not who we are. We cannot let political beliefs determine who gets to live, study, or work in this country. It doesn’t matter whether you agree with what these six people said, what matters is protecting the basic principle that speech, even harsh speech, is not a crime.
We call on Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Bureau of Consular Affairs to reverse these visa revocations immediately. We also urge Congress to investigate this overreach and put safeguards in place to protect freedom of expression, for citizens and non-citizens alike.
Let’s stand up for free speech before more people are silenced or kicked out for speaking their minds. Sign if you agree.
