Protect Dinosaur Valley — Put Guardrails on Massive Data Centers in Texas

Protect Dinosaur Valley — Put Guardrails on Massive Data Centers in Texas
The Issue
For 113 million years, dinosaur tracks have survived in the Paluxy River. They endured floods, droughts, and time itself.
Now they may face a new threat.
A proposed 2,600-acre industrial data center complex near Dinosaur Valley State Park would bring dozens of massive server buildings and multiple natural gas power plants to the Paluxy Valley. Plans presented to local officials show roughly 45 warehouse-sized structures and power generation facilities that could dramatically increase water use, traffic, air emissions, and light pollution in this rural region.
Is this the right place for a project of this scale?
Concerns include water use from gas-fired power plants, stormwater runoff into creeks that feed the Paluxy River, air quality in counties already close to federal limits, and permanent industrialization of land adjacent to one of Texas’ most iconic state parks. The valley is also habitat for the endangered golden-cheeked warbler.
Once thousands of acres are paved, power plants constructed, and infrastructure built, there is no undo button.
We are calling on Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Legislature, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and relevant water conservation districts to:
- Pause approvals until full environmental and water impact reviews are completed.
- Allow local governments the authority to issue temporary moratoriums while impacts are studied.
- Adopt statewide guardrails for large-scale data center developments near protected natural and cultural resources.
This is not about stopping innovation. It is about smart planning.
Dinosaur Valley is not just local land. It is part of Texas history and global natural heritage.
Once it becomes an industrial corridor, it cannot be restored.
Sign to protect the Paluxy Valley and demand responsible development in Texas.
