Hello! 6 year old Ryker here with the help of my mom! I may be small but I am mighty. I am here today to try to make a difference. Our feline friends need our help. I am petitioning President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to ban the declawing of felines. In my opinion there is no reason why someone should do this to a cat. It is just mean. I have hand written a letter that will be sent to the White House. I want to show our leaders that this is important to me and that other citizens support my small but mighty voice. 

I ask you today, why do we as humans have the right to decide to chop of feline's knuckles? You don't see adults chopping off kid's knuckles do you?  My mom works as a veterinary technician and she has told me that it happens quite often mainly because the cat is ruining furniture in the owner's house. This is mean and should not be happening. Cats are born with claws for a reason. If you don't want a cat with claws then do not get one. 

Declawing is very painful for the cat. They have to wear bandages so they don't bleed after surgery. When the bandages come off their feet hurt. They also cannot even use their regular cat litter that they are used to. They suffer even after they have healed from surgery. They need their claws to protect themselves both indoors and outdoors. Without their claws they can't climb to get away from predators or crazy dogs which could result in their death.
