The BYU-Hawaii Admin says it's not political. But see the 4 boxed-in "significant portions" that will be preserved. Truth is reason. Intelligence is also light and truth.

We do not know what and how the demolition of the McKay Mosaic has been packaged to the First Presidency. But something is very amiss with this McKay Complex Project. 

It's very difficult to see the lack of respect towards BYU-Hawaii, students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community at large.

Treasured legacies are preserved by architects and builders all the time. It's a matter of will and heart. "The concept of preserving or marking a site also has ancient roots. When the Lord led the children of Israel into the promised land, Joshua paused, as directed by the Lord, and placed 12 stone markers to remind future generations of God’s blessings upon His children (see Joshua 4:19–22).

The BYU-Hawaii Administration insists in its Press Release that it's not political.  But the BYU-Hawaii Administration will destroy the historic McKay Mosaic/Foyer in Laie. The four portions (in red boxes) of the Mosaic will be "significantly preserved." The rest of the mosaic mural that offend the Sovereignty Extremists will be erased. Look carefully. They at least did not dare erase the Temple and a prophet. But their perceived "imperialism" and "colonialism" offenses are removed.
