On August 28, 2023, the BYU-Hawaii Administration finally revealed its plans for the demolition of the McKay Complex. These plans were under a cloak of secrecy for nearly two years. Bits and pieces of information about this project were manipulated through its Press Releases, the BYU-Hawaii Alumni Facebook Page and group. Troll accounts, mother-in-laws, wives, and sovereignty supporters jumped into the mix. Their Social Media manipulation is not a pono way to justify their agenda of removing the McKay Mosaic.
As suspected, the David O. McKay Mosaic is removed. The Administration has been quoted through several sources as being offended by the "colonial" injustices displayed in the McKay Mosaic. They were offended by President McKay raising the American Flag. They were offended by the Pledge of Allegiance. They were offended by the children "forced" to salute the American Flag. They were offended because "Hawaii is not part of the USA". (They forget it's not just about them.)
There is an increasing lack of confidence in the BYU-Hawaii leadership. The current President appears to be out-of-touch.The President also has other major professional involvement outside of his BYU-Hawaii position. Recently, the President posted the opening of his Halia Therapeutics Inc. interests in Lehi, Utah. Questions are raised about his professional relationships with NOMI HEALTH, one of their "elite partners". Nomi Health was the chosen COVID19 Testing company for BYU-Hawaii in Laie.
A significant number of campus Faculty members, staff, and students are hunkering down to protect their jobs and to avoid more retribution on campus and at church.(The VP of Operations is a Stake President with a questionable record). Many are hoping that this "under siege" "sovereignty and progressive extremism" on campus will be dealt with from Salt Lake Headquarters.

Follow the Spirit as to how to proceed. President Nelson needs to know what's really going on at BYU-Hawaii in Laie. Something is very wrong. You have to take action immediately. The Administration is bulldozing this.
