Ruby was a three year old amazingly intelligent Rottweiler pup who lost her life on April 6 due to mismanagement of a simple heat stroke by a veterinarian who administered IV antibiotics, 02 doses of anesthesia and IV multivitamins (BComplex) as primary treatment after she collapsed following an obvious heat stroke. She was taken to the Varapuzha Government Vet Hospital after she collapsed in the heat while being taken out to a nearby farm. She was attended to by a substitute doctor,  who is the reason she is no longer with us today. No effort was made to reduce her temperature whatsoever- no ice packs, nothing. When we suggested administering some medication to combat the heat and dehydration, the doctor got rude and dismissed the suggestion entirely.

As a result of the wrong medication, she was pushed into having multiple seizures, one followed by another and her condition deteriorated further with each passing minute. Her treating doctor gave up on her seeing her minimal chances of survival and suggested that we take her somewhere with better facilities. We took her to another hospital with no help from the hospital in even transporting her into the car. 

This was followed by a traumatic session of trying to revive her by administering ice packs, checking her temperature regularly until her heart slowed down and CPR was attempted. She continued to suffer in pain and vomited blood in between as a result of internal bleeding as explained by the doctors in the second hospital. After almost an hour of CPR, she succumbed and passed away, leaving us behind.

A terrible death for a pure soul who would not literally even harm a fly. I am certain that pet owners around the world can attest to the fact that your pets are indeed your family. They might not be able to walk on two legs or talk, but they provide you with so much more and nourish your soul by simply existing. Dogs are magical and selfless beings and Ruby was a special, extraordinarily intelligent and playful pup who enriched the lives of anyone who had the honor of knowing her. She was family. And she deserves justice.

Through this petition, we aim to bring about a closure to medical negligence in the veterinary field and take down such incompetent, careless doctors who do not deserve to practice. This doctor, Sreejith, has built quite a reputation over the years as someone who has cost many such pets their lives owing to his carelessness. He practices in and around the Kochi area, in Kerala and is mostly a home visit doctor. Apparently, he is backed up politically and police cases do not affect him. 

By signing this petition, your support shall be rendered multi-way in creating awareness as well as putting a stop to this veterinarians practice effectively such that he cannot harm any more of our loved ones. If we win this petition, this can be used to bring down him and many other such careless practitioners who we turn to in desperate times and trust with the lives of our babies. 

While we deal with corruption and political abuse of power in every aspect of our life, the fact that this prevents the most innocent from obtaining justice must be where we put a stop to this.
