Recently, our local news has stated that over 3400 acres of unused property at Tyndall Air Force Base located in Panama City Fl is slated to be released for development under the Enhanced Use Lease Program.
This is some of the last pristine property in Florida that remains undeveloped along the Gulf Coast in the NWFL Panhandle.
It is imperative that this property remain in its natural state and not be allowed to be developed commercially by private developers or other entities.
I propose that the federal government turn this 3400 acres into a national park or convey the property to the State Of Florida with express purpose of creating a state park, and by maintaining it’s pristine shore lines and forests create a generational national treasure for all citizens to enjoy.
Our land resources are very limited, and we have a Diamond opportunity of a lifetime to create a long lasting Partnership with the Federal and State government by creating such a nature park. There is plenty of other properties in our local area that can be developed without sacrificing a rare and wonderful resource as the one that resides on Tyndall Airforce Base. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.116039460133746&type=3
