James Inhofe is an American politician who served as the senior United States Senator from Oklahoma from 1994 until 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he was known for his conservative stances on fiscal and social issues and his skepticism about climate change. Inhofe chaired multiple Senate Committees throughout his tenure, such as the Committee on Environment and Public Works and the Armed Services Committee. Prior to his time in the Senate, he served as Mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma and in the United States House of Representatives.
