In 2018, a "super-Earth" sized planet was discovered and named K2-141b. It is located 202 light-years away from Earth. It recently (11/6/2020) was written about in a CBS news article found here: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/astronomers-discover-hell-planet-k2-141b-rock-rain-lava-oceans/

What is extremely intriguing about this planet compared to other planets is its proximity to the star it orbits. Labeled a "lava planet," it rains and has oceans made of, you guessed it, lava. Pure molten rock. For many people, this sounds very familiar to the Star Wars planet of Mustafar.

Mustafar first appeared in the Star Wars series in 2005, making its debut in Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. It has since been referenced in many tv series, comics, and fan-created spin-offs. It's known for one of the most iconic and intense lightsaber battles of all the Star Wars universe: Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader). A large portion of this fight takes place floating down a river of lava.

The reason I am asking for K2-141b to be renamed to this iconic planet is to pay homage to the millions of Star Wars fans as well as to bring a "New Hope" and source of joy to 2020, which has been a year full of tragedy. Star Wars is one of the most iconic and well-recognized series of all time. With the new formation of the United States Space Force, as well the continued push for space exploration from companies such as SpaceX, Raytheon, and Boeing, I think Star Wars and its fanbase deserve to have this planet officially recognized and renamed to Mustafar. It will provide a beacon of inspiration for young scientists and astronauts everywhere.

May the Force be with you.
