DEFUND Baltimore City Public School System PROVIDE PARENTS WITH FUNDING FOR PRIVATE EDU!

The Issue

I’m am writing this petition because as a tax-payer and a mother of children who attend Baltimore City Schools; I am extremely unhappy with the conditions of the school buildings, the quality of education children in the city receive, and Lastly, the amount of funds that Baltimore City Public schools receive and are still unable to produce a better learning environment as well as the ability to produce students that are prepared to go on and become successful in life!

This petition is to encourage law makers in the State of Maryland, educators (teachers) in Baltimore City, The board of Education in Maryland, The board of Education for The City of Baltimore and the lastly but MOST IMPORTANTLY PARENTS; to stand with me in protesting more options for our children.

I believe with the 1.2 Billion dollars Baltimore City is receiving for our children.($18,000 per. Student also the price of private education on the higher end.) ; Our children should be able to read well, write well, and understand mathematics but statistics show they do increasing worse!

(“It shows the more time students are spending in Baltimore city schools, the worse their outcome,”Melissa Braunstein said, a visiting fellow at the Maryland Public Policy Institute. -WBFF Mikenzie Frost.)

Our children should be able to go on to four year institution and succeed without having to go to a city or state college for remedial classes to catch up to an education they should have received in elementary/middle/ and high school.

In the current conditions of our schools (Baltimore City Public Schools) most children leave unable to read, write, or understand mathematics and much less get decent jobs. THAT HAS TO CHANGE! I ask that we DEMAND the right and the ability to send our children to private institutions or any institution of our choosing with the help from our local and state government with the tax dollars, grants, and City initiatives they would use in helping to  fund The Baltimore Public School System so that our children have a fighting chance in life!

STAND WITH ME SO THAT OUR CHILDREN CAN HAVE A FIGHTING CHANCE IN LIFE!

Here is a news reference for more on statistics as well as the quote from  Melissa Braunstein said, a visiting fellow at the Maryland Public Policy Institute. -WBFF Mikenzie Frost.)
