Save Husmann Farm from turnpike

Save Husmann Farm from turnpike
The Issue
OKLAHOMA TURNPIKE AUTHORITY WANTS TO TAKE OUR FAMILY LAND
In 1966, my Grandma and Grandpa Lora and Arnold Husmann, gave their 4 daughters and 1 son 5 acres each of land from their 160 acres they purchases in the early 1930's. On each piece of land, a tree was planted by Grandpa. The stipulation was they had to build a house on it. This area became known as Husmannville and a proud sign was put on the corner of SW 44 and Morgan Rd. The population on the sign read 19 and my mom Dolly Husmann-Priest was mayor. So as you can see, family was very important to Grandma and Grandpa Husmann. I, in turn, reaped the benfits of growing up in the country. I attended Mustang schools with my cousins and had the security of my whole family around me. The only thing that separated us were the green pastures and grazing cattle. However, each house had a path leading to it. The path represented a welcome symbol for any family member that wished to use it for things such as borrowing fresh eggs or just having a morning cup of coffee. Although the population has grown thru the years, the closeness of the family still remains. Now the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is wanting to split our family farm right down the middle to put in a turnpike that leads to nowhere. Please help us get this useless destruction of farm land stopped by making calls and making people aware that they can take anyones land they please. I give credit to my Grandma and Grandpa Husmann for instilling family values in me as a child. They not only talked about how important families are, they went that one step further by building love all around me. Please help me be able to give my children and their children the same pastures and creeks to play in that their Grandma Dolly Husmann-Priest and I played in as children.. Please help us save Husmannville.
