Hello, my name is Ricky D’Ascenzo. I am 15 years old and a student at Everett High School in Lansing Michigan. I was riding the bus to school one day, and I noticed a PURPLE street light on Cedar street. I thought that was a bit unusual. Then an idea sparked in my head and I said to myself “If there’s a purple street light, why don’t we install ones of other colors!” A few days later, my Mom mentions that she saw the exact same purple street light that I had saw a few days before. And I thought back to when I saw that purple street light. And I thought I should create a petition to maybe get a crowd effort so maybe I can make this idea a reality. I know it’s kind of a dumb idea, but I think it’ll make Lansing streets a little less boring! I think the people of Lansing will really enjoy colorful street lights! And maybe other cities will pick up on this and incorporate colorful street lights if this petition gets Lansing to install colored street lights!
