Andy Schor is an American politician currently serving as the 52nd mayor of Lansing, Michigan, a position he has held since 2018. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Schor has a distinguished career in public service. Before becoming mayor, he represented the 68th district in the Michigan House of Representatives, which encompasses most of the City of Lansing and all of Lansing Township. He also served as a member of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners. Notably, Schor is the first Jewish mayor of Lansing. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan. Schor's career includes roles such as Assistant Director of State Affairs at the Michigan Municipal League and Public Information Officer at the Office of Financial and Insurance Services.
