Justice for Terrell Wright – Wrongfully Convicted at 19

The Issue

My name is Terrell Wright, and I have spent the last 17 years in prison for a crime I did not commit. At just 19 years old, I was wrongfully convicted of murder in Philadelphia and sentenced to life without parole—despite having no physical evidence, no DNA, and no credible witnesses tying me to the crime.

Since 2008, I’ve maintained my innocence and fought to prove the truth. I recently filed a Post-Conviction Relief Act (PCRA) petition backed by new evidence, including witness statements that were never heard by a jury and serious constitutional errors that undermined my right to a fair trial.

The justice system failed me—but I’m not giving up.

Now, I need your voice. I’m calling on the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas to:

1. Grant a full evidentiary hearing to present the newly discovered evidence in my case.

2. Support a fair review of the constitutional violations that led to my wrongful conviction.

3. Vacate my conviction and allow me a chance at freedom and a new trial based on truth—not injustice.

This isn’t just about me—it’s about fixing a system that too often discards lives without accountability. By signing this petition, you are standing with truth, fairness, and the belief that no innocent person should be condemned to die behind bars.

Please sign and share. Help bring me home.

Shawn WrightPetition StarterTerrell Wright is my brother, and he has been incarcerated for roughly 17 years. My goal is to study the law, especially post conviction as much as possible so that I can help my brother overturn his conviction.
