Lawrence Samuel Krasner is an American lawyer and the 26th District Attorney of Philadelphia, elected in 2017. As one of the first "progressive prosecutors" in the United States, Krasner has focused on reforming the criminal justice system, advocating for reduced incarceration and broader reforms. A member of the Democratic Party, Krasner has held prominent positions including District Attorney of Philadelphia and City Attorney in private practice. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Stanford University.
