Since the wolf was removed from the U.S. Endangered Species List early last year, the states of Idaho and Montana have been authorized to "manage" wolves in their respective states as they see fit.  This "management" is really nothing more than the slaughter of wolves -- take the state of Idaho for example, which is aiming for a reduction of 25% in the state's wolf population.  While environmental advocacy groups are fighting the federal government's decision to delist the wolves in court, I am taking advocacy one step further and pledging not to set foot into Idaho or Montana until they stop killing wolves.  I am hoping that the fact that I am an avid flyfisherman will mean something to the governments of Idaho and Montana -- it should, because if enough flyfishermen like me boycott their states, they could lose a significant source of income.

Please, sign this petition to the governor of Idaho, urging him to stop hunting wolves and stating that you will not visit his state -- to fish, hunt, ski, hike, backpack, mountain bike, bird watch, or any other activity that would otherwise drive you to spend time in Idaho -- until he stops killing wolves.  If enough of us send this message, we may be able to save the lives of many wolves.
