PERM(Program electronic review management) falls under the department of Labor (DOL) Atlanta office. When PERM was enacted it was made to speed up the processing of perm application and reduce the application time frame to 60-90 days but since the last 15 months the wait has been longer than 18 months for most people. This has hampered a lot of lives with people living away from their families. People who work and pay taxes and follow the right route to achieve the American Dream should not be tortured in this manner.

The DOL uses the "veil" of so-called random audit to slide the cases under the rug and process them at their own will. This has left numerous tax paying citizens on the mercy of DOL PERM workers. Contrary to the beliefs of DOL reducing the wait time does not undermine the integrity of the program, it increases accountability which surprisingly has been lost in the way PERM applications are processed.

Even though the processing is done by an automated profiling system DOL has been negligent enough to leave the so-called "randomly audited" applications without any result for over 2 years. This undermines the integrity of the program.

I urge the lawmakers and the concerned individuals to bring the program back to a more "humane" wait times and actually help in the growth of the economy.
