Demand the Safe Return of Advocate Hakeem

Demand the Safe Return of Advocate Hakeem
The Issue
Abdul Hakeem son of Fazal Kareem, resident of Washuk, Ralhshan Baloch, a respected advocate and a practicing lawyer, was forcefully abducted from his residence in Quetta, Balochistan, on the night of July 24 by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other state agencies. This unconscionable act points to a worrying trend of enforced disappearances in Pakistan, particularly targeting activists, journalists, and citizens who dare to speak up for justice and human rights in Balochistan.
The phenomenon of enforced disappearances is a gross violation of human rights and a clear breach of both national and international laws to which Pakistan is a signatory. The families of the disappeared are left in turmoil and uncertainty, deprived of their right to know the truth about the fate and whereabouts of their loved ones. Such actions not only ignite fear within communities but also corrode public trust in the very institutions meant to protect them.
We urge the responsible authorities to immediately recover Advocate Hakeem and ensure his safety and well-being. It is imperative for the dignity of the state and for the trust of the people that justice be served. A transparent investigation should be launched into his disappearance, and those responsible should be held to account.
The government must also implement preventive measures to halt this cycle of abductions and ensure all security and enforcement personnel operate within the confines of the law. Strengthening the judicial system and ensuring rigid adherence to the due processes of law are crucial steps towards ending this cycle of abuse.
Join us in demanding immediate action and the safe return of Advocate Hakeem. Sign this petition to stand against enforced disappearances and to support human rights for all.
